DMS Announcements

January 17, 2020

Today we are on “A” schedule and we are on “D” Dragon time rotation.

The DMS Student Council is holding a thermos drive for “Soup for Souls”.  They have decided to open it up to the entire school.  If you would like to donate, there is a box in the library.  You can also give them to a Student Council member in our House meetings.

Dickson Sports Media posted the top ten Individual sports stories of 2019……coming in 5th as the youngest and the smallest but one of the most powerful…our our Sarah Potter!!!!

Ms. Buchanan wanted the stage crew to know that you will be meeting after school on January 21st.

The “Holiday World” reward trip for 8th graders has been determined and here are the expectations.  A’s, B’s and C’s in all classes, not attendance issues and no more than two discipline referrals.  We already are setting the bar higher than ever this year so let’s get to work!

Students we are in the process of setting an attendance goal for rewards depending on the number of days you are here!  Our overall school wide goal is 98%, Ms. Harrison is also going to accept a challenge if you meet your attendance goal.  We need you here every day!

DMS Boys’ Soccer Tryouts will be held January 27th and 28th at 3:30 p.m.  You must have a physical to try out. See Coach Spurlock in Rm. 126 for more information.

Loran Anderson has been recognized by one of our own students for “Educator of the Week” and now in the race for “Educator of the Month”!  Please take the opportunity to vote for our girl every day!  All you have to do is Google Tennessee Lottery Educator of the Month and look for her name and picture and check the box beneath the picture.

Report cards go home on today through 7th period classes.

Next Friday Isibindi is hosting our next HOUSE Family night from 6-8 p.m.  We will have game night and dodgeball and, as always dinner on us if you come with a parent or guardian.  More details to come!

Friday we are going to celebrate the Titan’s as they continue their path to the Superbowl.  We are going to go “Two Tone Blue” for High Five Titan’s Friday!

Monday is a holiday celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday so we will have no school.

We are the Dragon Nation!  Our Historic building is purposefully placed in the heart of Dickson, Tennessee.  We are the heart of Dickson County.  We are relentless.  We never stop, we never quit.  We go one more round for each other.
