Welcome, Dr. Nick Brown, DES Assistant Principal

Dr. Nick Brown was born and raised in the Finger Lakes region of New York. He graduated from the State University of New York at Geneseo in 2007, and received his master’s degree in education and school counseling from Alfred University in 2009. Dr. Brown received his Ed.S in administrative leadership from Union University in 2014. He recently finished the Lipscomb Doctoral program, receiving his doctorate in Learning Organizations and Strategic Change. In 2010, Dr. Brown moved to Tennessee and began his career as a School Counselor at Westmoreland Elementary School. While at Westmoreland Elementary he founded a summer program that focused on experiential learning through daily field trips. He has worked as a Teacher Leader District Coach with TDOE for three years and this past year he served as a SCORE fellow. He has been a teacher leader and lead interventionist at Westmoreland Elementary School since 2013. In April, Dr. Brown and his wife Traci welcomed their first child; a baby girl named Perry. He is extremely excited to be joining Dickson County Schools as the Assistant Principal of Dickson Elementary.
