Raised in a military family, Dr. Woody Burton has lived many places; however, for most of his adult life, he has called Tennessee home. After an enlistment in the U.S. Army, he returned to Clarksville, where he married his wife Gayle and raised two sons, Tony and Larry.

 

Dr. Burton holds a Master’s of Arts degree in teaching, a Master’s in Educational Leadership, and the degree of Doctorate in Leadership and Professional Practice was conferred upon him in 2015.

 

Dr. Burton’s educational experience has spanned all divisions. He taught at the elementary level in various grades, served for six years as an assistant principal at the high school level, and since 2016, he has had the honor of leading Dickson Middle School as principal.

 

He and his wife Gayle are proud to be residents of the Dickson community and are active members of the Dickson Civitan Club.
