Good morning cougar nation!  We like to start each day here on the hill with a moment of silence.  Please pause with me now for a brief moment of respectful silence.

Announcements

Students in mr. powlas, ms . shelby ,mr west, mr Allison and mr rakus classes will report to the auditorium today.

Thank you to all the chaperones and bus drivers for yesterday's Junior College Trips.  Juniors, I hope you enjoyed the experience of touring a college campus. Mrs. Fortner has tallied the points for the picture contest from the pictures that have been submitted. Thank you to the students who participated.  It looks like UT Martin is in first place.  More information on that to come...

** Please join the HOSA team DC Bright Lights by supporting and raising awareness for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society tonight at Nissan Stadium@ 530pm as we take part in a Light the Night. If you have any questions please contact Isabella Cardona or Alison Breeden.

** The state of Tennessee provides Governor’s School summer programs for gifted and talented high school sophomores and juniors.  These programs provide challenging and intensive learning experiences in a variety of disciplines. Applicants should be in the top of their high school class in performance and capability. Governor’s School applications are available online. Any interested student should stop by the Counseling Department to pick up information on how to apply. 

DCHS will host a Post-Secondary Options meeting for sophomores and their parents on Monday, November 5 at 6:00 pm in the auditorium. This will take place during the last hour of our parent/teacher conference time. There will be representatives from a public 4-year college, private 4-year college, 2-year College, an applied technology college and the military.  Representatives will discuss the different options and be available to answer questions.  Please make plans to attend.

We will be on a regular schedule today.  During cp we will report to homeroom to check magazine sales commissions and grab bag slips.
