December 3 74-180The Burns Middle School Challenge class is sponsoring a
marker drive to collect dried up markers.
This drive will run through December 13th. The drop off boxes will be located throughout
the school. Please drop off your used
markers and help recycle.
The Bobcat Band will have a Christmas concert on December 16th
at Dickson County High School. The
concert will begin at 7:00 pm and admission is free. Come and support your Bobcat Band this
holiday season.
As the celebration of the 100 anniversary of United States women
winning the right to vote continues, history records show in1869, Susan B.
Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton formed the National Woman Suffrage
Association (NWSA). The primary goal of the organization was to achieve voting
rights for women by amending the Constitution. The next year Congress ratifies
the 15th amendment which is “The right of citizens of the United States to vote
shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account
of race, color, or previous condition of servitude,” omitting the inclusion of
women which further strengthens the resolve of the NWSA.
In sports today: The Lady Bobcats and Bobcats will host East
Hickman. Tip-off for the Lady Bobcats is
at 6:00, and the Bobcats will follow.
The Bobcats wrestling team will travel to Harpeth to take on Harpeth and
Springfield. Weigh-in is at 4:30.
