May 15, 2019Today we are
on “A” schedule and we are in Homeroom Dragon Time rotation.
HOUSE leadership
and students, you should have received permission forms yesterday during your
HOUSE meetings. The information on these
forms needs to be signed front and back by a parent for you to be able to
attend the final HOUSE reward field trip.
The window of time is so short and the points are so close that I need
all of you to get permission in case your HOUSE wins the final points on field day! There will be folders for each HOUSE in the
front office in the morning. Please get
these signed and turned in by Friday, May 17th.
Ms. Kelly
Carter’s homeroom will report to Ms. Mac’s class and Amistad Great Pretenders
will report to room 109 during 8th grade Dragontime.
DMS and
Coach Fussell are so excited to announce that Bo Kerr represented the Dragons
well and played some great golf over the last two days in our State Regional
Tournament, shooting 84 and 75 to finish 9th overall!
Beta Club
members, service logs need to be turned in to Mr. Proffitt ASAP.
Football
players need to turn in Camp paperwork to Mr. Proffitt by today in order to
establish a head count for lunch.
The DCHS
band is holding color guard auditions this week in the DCHS band room until
5:30, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of this week. This audition is for current 8th
grade students only. Please see Mr.
Joyce for more details.
If you are
an 8th grader and you will be attending DCHS there are petition
forms in the office for those of you who are interested in being a class
officer. Those forms need to be
completed and turned in by Wednesday, May 22nd.
Today there
will be several 8th grade groups meeting during Homeroom in the
auditorium. All 8th graders
need to report to Homeroom to check in and we will call those groups to the
auditorium when it is time.
Students, we
have stamped envelopes for you to purchase in the front office to give to your
Homeroom teacher to mail your report cards at the end of the year so you don’t
have to pick them up on Saturday. Those
envelopes are on sale for $1.00.
If you are
interested in trying out for the DMS girl’s soccer team tryouts will be held
May 21st and 22nd here at DMS from 3:30-5:00. You must
have a current sports physical and you must bring a soccer ball for tryouts. There are forms in the office for you to fill
out and turn if you plan to attend.
DMS Boy’s
Basketball will be hosting an additional tryout for all rising 7th
graders and football players on May 20th from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30
p.m. at DMS.
Thursday and
Friday we will have designated stations in the morning for Field Day! These
rotation schedules and events will be sent out today! We have high expectations for behavior
because we will be rotating through several events with a culminating event in
the afternoon on the football field.
Please bring water, sunscreen and a towel.
