January 18, 2019Today we are on “A” schedule and we are in “D” Dragon Time
rotation.
7th and 8th grade students with
perfect attendance for the first semester (from day one to Christmas break)
please pick up a permission slip for a reward field trip to the Roxy. Permission slips will be available today at
the beginning of your lunch period in Rm. 200 (Ms. Mac) Congratulations,
students!!
This is a new semester and a fresh beginning for all of
us. The Holiday World trip is a reward
trip for 8th grade students that takes place at the end of the
school year. We have high expectations
every day at DMS and want to maintain that for our reward trip. Students who have A’s and B’s this semester
and perfect attendance during TN Ready testing with minimal discipline issues
will be allowed to take this trip.
Report cards will go home today during 7th period.
They are in teacher mailboxes.
The library will be closed until 3rd period due
to a presentation for parents.
If you were unable to attend the Parent meeting last night
for Boy’s Soccer tryouts there are packets available in the front office with
paperwork and details. You must have a
sports physical to try out. Tryouts are
January 28th and 29th on
our football field and you must attend both sessions.
DMS Softball tryouts will be conducted on Monday, January 28th
and Tuesday, January 29th at Dickson County High School from
5:30-7:30. Please make sure you bring
your try out form and a copy of your sports physical. That information is available in the front
office.
DMS Boys and Lady Dragon Basketball will begin tournament
play on Monday. Congratulations to our
Lady Dragons who took first seed and will be hosting the All Area
Tournament. They will play at Home
against Macon County on Monday at 2:30.
Please come out and show your support for our ladies! DMS Boys
Basketball will travel to Mt. Juliet for the first round and they will play at
3:00. Good luck Dragons!!
Our next HOUSE family night will be January 25th
which is next Friday from 6-8 p.m. Isibindi will be hosting. Everyone is welcome to enjoy free food, fun
and games as long as you attend with a parent.
Isibindi members need to bring in Little Debbie Cakes and drop them off
with Coach Baker or Ms. Wilkes.
Amistad is working on making hygiene products available for
students here at DMS and would appreciate donations of the following: Shampoo, deodorant, and toothpaste. Please leave donations in the box outside the
cafeteria. Thank you for your help!!
We are celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King’s birthday on
Monday so school will not be in session.
Enjoy your long weekend!
