Avoid the "Summer Slide"

Avoid the “summer slide” by using these summer reading resources!  The “summer slide” occurs when students do not read as much during the summer as they do during the school year.  This can cause a decline in their reading skills.  Dickson County Schools encourages students and their families to read throughout the summer. Your child will become a more confident reader when given encouragement, suggestions and praise. Make reading part of your family’s summer fun!
