Additional Federal funding to address effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on student academic and social needs
The Dickson County School District expects to receive additional ESSER (Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief) funds from the federal government. This money will be used for the next school year and the following year. It does come with strict guidelines for how it can be used.
ESSER III funding is available to help safely reopen schools and address the impacts of the pandemic on students’ academic, social, emotional, and mental health needs, including interventions to address “learning loss”—delays in students' academic progress related to the pandemic—and support equity with services and supports for student populations that have been disproportionately impacted by the pandemic.
We are thankful to be in a position to have these one-time funds to invest in critical areas to help students safely return to school on-site five days a week in the fall, and to address our schools’ and students’ needs emerging from the pandemic.
Thank you for taking a few minutes to share your thoughts about needs, resources and effective investments for this one-time funding.
