Mrs. Rachford is a devoted educator within the Dickson County school system, serving fifteen out of her twenty years in education. She attended Middle Tennessee State University, obtaining her Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education in 2004. She furthered her education by earning a Master’s Degree in Teaching and Learning, focusing on reading from NOVA Southeastern University in 2006. After pursuing leadership, she earned her EdS in Instructional Leadership from Lipscomb University in 2017.
Mrs. Rachford began her teaching career in 2nd grade in Metro Nashville Public Schools and moved to Burns, TN, in 2006 to teach 3rd grade at Stuart-Burns Elementary. After six years, the military relocated her family to West TN, where she continued to teach 1st and 3 rd grade. After a brief stint in west TN, Mrs. Rachford and her family returned to Burns, TN, to establish roots for her family.
In 2015, she joined Oakmont Elementary in Dickson, where she taught 4th grade and volunteered to help open Sullivan Central Elementary. Since then, she has transitioned to the Instructional Coach role at Dickson Elementary, where she has enjoyed building relationships and promoting academic growth. Mrs. Rachford is dedicated to promoting academic excellence in both students and faculty. Her commitment extends to building relationships within the Stuart-Burns Elementary community, recognizing the importance of a supportive network in the educational journey. She values each member of the community and their unique contributions to the learning environment.
Mrs. Rachford and her husband, Buford, live in Burns with their two sons, RJ and Noah. This personal aspect of her life adds a relatable dimension to her professional profile. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and supporting her children at their sporting events, just like many of the parents in the community.
