Kelly is committed to our school’s mission of nurturing every student’s potential. She believes in the power of collaboration and is eager to begin her new role.
Kelly Duran is a Dickson County native and graduated from DCHS in 1998. Her education continued at Lipscomb University where she graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and then with a Master's Degree in Administration and Supervision from Tennessee State University. Once more, Kelly returned to Lipscomb University and graduated with her Education Specialist Degree in English Language Learning. Kelly just completed her 22nd year as an educator. This past year, she served as the instructional coach at White Bluff Elementary School. Prior to that, Kelly taught ELL for 8 years, and she also spent 13 years in the classroom.
Kelly and her husband, Val, live in Dickson with their two daughters. In their spare time, Kelly and Val also run a nonprofit, Sonrisa, to serve the Latino community. Kelly attended WBES as a child, but only for one year. However, her parents, Ken and Carol Kerns, both worked at WBES for many years, so White Bluff is home to her. Kelly is happy to return to WBES in her new role and is excited to serve the students, staff, and the community of White Bluff.
