Sheryl Thiel, a lifelong Dickson resident and 1998 DCHS graduate, has 17 years of experience as an educator with the Dickson County Board of Education. Dr. Thiel started her career in education in August of 2004 when she was hired to teach at Charlotte Middle School. During her 13 years at Charlotte Middle, Sheryl taught 8th grade math, pre-algebra, algebra, and 6th grade math. For the last four years, she has worked as an assistant principal at Stuart-Burns Elementary School.
Dr. Thiel has a bachelor’s degree in 5th – 8th grade Interdisciplinary Studies, a master’s/educational specialist degree in Educational Leadership, and a doctorate degree in Educational Leadership where she focused on data-driven decision-making. She is married to Coach Houston Thiel (Go Red Hawks!) and they have two children: Lillie Belle (14)- an upcoming freshman at Creek Wood and Hattie Kate (1).
