Both teachers and students benefit from an accurate understanding of how people learn, but many times we hold mistaken beliefs that undermine student learning. In this session, participants will learn about choke points (a constraint of the cognitive system students must cope with in order to learn) and pitfalls (a common error students make when studying), and identify solutions for each so that learning may occur.
