The Dickson County School Board took a moment during its July meeting to celebrate a monumental first for the school district. Senior class president and student leader Reese Kelso was officially recognized for his recent election as the National Beta Club Vice President, a historic achievement for both Creek Wood High School and Dickson County.

"Reese, congratulations to you! I think you're the first for Dickson County," remarked Dr. Southerland, during the presentation, acknowledging the unprecedented nature of his national appointment.

Kelso’s rise to national leadership comes as no surprise to those who know his track record. A dedicated leader throughout his high school career, Reese has spent the last four years actively serving in student government and youth leadership programs. Today, he leads his peers as Creek Wood High School's Senior Class President.

His journey within the Beta Club has been equally impressive. Just last month, Reese completed his tenure as the Tennessee State Beta Vice President.

As National Beta Vice President, Reese will represent thousands of Beta Club members across the country, advocating for the organization’s core pillars: Achievement, Character, Leadership, and Service.

His historic achievement not only highlights his personal dedication and work ethic, but it also shines a bright spotlight on the strength of student leadership programs within Dickson County Schools.
