DES WEEKLY BEAR NECESSITIES

Good evening, Bear Pack! Today is Monday, October 27, 2025.

A new PBIS reward period started last Monday. Our next PBIS reward activity is Thursday, December 18th. To earn the reward, students must have NO major discipline referrals and have NO MORE than two minor referrals. Ask your teacher if you want help or aren’t sure about your referrals. Keep following the rules and being kind so you can join the fun!

Friday, October 31st is a half day for DCHS Homecoming, it's our Walk-a-Thon, AND it's HALLOWEEN!! Parents are welcome to attend but must check in through the front office. Our schedule for that day has changed. 4th and 5th grades will walk 8:15-9:15, PreK - 1st will walk 9:15-10:15, and 2nd and 3rd will walk 9:45-11:00. All students will receive free popcorn and Kona Ice will be available for purchase.

We have dress up week this week for homecoming. Every day you dress up, your class earns points for team Dr. Brown or team Dr. Elle. The days are…
Tuesday - BEACH/TOURIST Day
Wednesday - DISNEY Day
Thursday - SPORTS DAY
and Friday - HALLOWEEN. Students, you may wear costumes that day but DO NOT wear masks, face paint, or anything scary or bloody. If you're not sure, ask your teacher before you wear it!

Next Monday, November 3rd, is parent teacher conference day from 11-7. If you have not scheduled a conference with your student's teacher, please do so.

We will also host our book fair during parent teacher conferences. Stop by and take a peek. The book fair will continue through Friday, November 7th.

Our lost and found is overflowing. Parent teacher conferences are a great time to look through and see if you can find any missing items. It's also a great idea to write your child's name in their clothing and other possessions.

Please note a few important reminders regarding drop-offs and pick-ups for the safety of our students and drivers. Whether you are dropping off at the front door or at PreK, kindly respect the 15 miles per hour speed limit from 7:00-8:00 AM and in the afternoons from 2:15-3:15 PM.

Also, if you need to park, please use the right lane closest to the sidewalk before the front entrance, whether in the morning or afternoon. The area by the dumpster is designated as a no-parking zone for deliveries only.

Have a great week!!
