Announcements
The DCHS Marching Band
competed at the Mid-West Tennessee Marching Competition in Waverly on Sept. 29
and received the following awards:
1st in class field commanders
1st in class color guard
1st in class percussion
1st in class band
1st place overall field
commanders
2nd place overall color guard
1st place overall percussion
1st place band large division
1st place overall band
sweepstakes winner
Thank you for all of your
hard work and dedication this season. I
would like to give a special shout out to bryan Henson and his entire staff
along with the band. Our band has made such
a difference in the atmosphere at football games this year. The new music played this year to support our
football team and the fans is just simply an awesome jam session. I appreciate your enthusiasm, your dancing,
your chants, and your hard work ethic that you guys brought to our school this
year. It has not gone un-noticed
At MTSU, for students with an
ACT score of 29 or above and a GPA of 3.5 or above, we offer the opportunity to
apply for the Buchanan Fellowship. This is the highest scholarship given at
MTSU and includes a full tuition waiver (up to 16 hours) for four years,
priority registration, a book allowance, and much more. The Buchanan Fellowship
is a competitive scholarship and is limited to 20 students per year. Please see
Mrs. Deaton for information on how to apply.
Juniors, you will have the
opportunity to take college field trips on Thursday, November 1st. There are nine available colleges to tour
this year: UT Chattanooga, UT Knoxville, UT Martin, TN Tech, Western KY, University
of Memphis, MTSU, and APSU. Sign-ups
will be online. The link will be located
on the main page of our school website.
Sign-ups will open up on Monday, October 22nd and end on Wednesday,
October 24th at 3:00. If you have
questions, please see Mrs. Fortner.
There will be a Haunting on
the Hill planning meeting in the front cafeteria at 3:30 today after school.
DCHS History Club Members can
pick up their club t-shirts in room 309
If you are a current DCHS
SOPHOMORE, you are welcome to enroll in our trip to Europe for Summer
2020. This includes Italy, Greece,
France, England and Switzerland and is a 17 day trip. If you have any questions see Ms. Donna
Bryant, Ms. Kimberly Hale or Ms. Maria Thornton.
DCHS HOSA will be hosting a
PINK OUT football game this thursday, the 18th.
Please Join the fight against breast cancer by purchasing a PINK OUT
t-shirt. You can purchase a t-shirt during lunch or see a Health Science
teacher. The cost is 15.00. All proceeds will go to the American Breast
Cancer Society. Pink Out for the
CURE!!! Making strides to SAVE
Lives!!! Thanks for your support!!!
Benefits Inc. is sponsoring a
special concert of the Nashville Symphony Orchestra this Saturday at 7:00 PM in
the concert hall of the Renaissance Center.
This concert is free and open to the public. Also, our own Dickson County High School
Concert Choir will perform a preconcert in the Rotunda at 6:00 prior to the
symphony concert. All are invited.
Today in sports
The Lady Cougar soccer team ended
their season with a loss to brentwood in the region semi finals. This concludes an end to a very successful
season. A special thanks to coach
cardona and coach breese and the entire team on representing our school so well!
We will be on a Wednesday
hybrid 246 schedule today. During cp we will have game changer sessions.

and 11th grade students will report to hr for act sessions and from
1027-1127 we will have game changer sessions today

auditorium for cp. We will have speakers from Nemak, Bridgestone, and Mid TN
Lumber, to speak to the senior class.
