Parent Notifications & Communications

Communication with parents is very important in Dickson County Schools. Parents are kept informed by several different methods such as automated phone calls, text messages, student information portal, social media and local news broadcasts.

Skyward Student Management

Dickson County Schools recognizes the vital role that parents/guardians play in education. Skyward Family Access is an easy to use web-based tool for parents/guardians that provides secure, near real time information about your child’s grades, attendance, class schedule, messages from teachers, and demographic information.
Your student’s school sets up access at time of enrollment. If you do not remember how to access your account, please contact your school. ****UPDATE**** During the COVID-19 school closure, you may e-mail studentdatamanager@dcstn.org for assistance with your login. Please e-mail your name and the name of your child(ren).

Text Communications

To receive alerts and notifications via text message, parents will need to sign up for a Twitter account, add their cell phone number to the account, find and follow @DCS_TN. Be sure to set your notifications on your Twitter account to allow text messages from @DCS_TN to be sent to your phone.

NOTE: The Dickson County school system is not responsible for parent use of Twitter to receive messages. Dickson County Schools is not responsible for, nor supports setup or cancellation of Twitter notifications. Your subscription to Twitter and the @DCS_TN tweets is purely voluntary.
