Karen Breeden
Breeden, Karen
I completed my B.S. in Health and Human Performance at
Austin Peay State University with an endorsement for all content in 4th-8th
grades. My first four years at Dickson Middle were spent within the classroom
teaching 7th and 8th grade science. While I am now in the
gym, my goal is to implement a love of not only physical fitness and healthy
lifestyles, but also instill a love of learning in all students. I aspire to
teach my students to work interdependently within their teams to achieve their
goals while in the gym, in hopes that it carries over to their daily lives.

As a graduate of Creek Wood High School, my roots are here in Dickson County and I’m thrilled to be the art teacher at Dickson Middle. I am an advocate for the arts and hope to instill an appreciation for all types of art within our students. I believe in teaching discipline-based art education (art history, art aesthetics, art criticism, and cross-curriculum) as well as life-long skills. I strive to create a respectful, welcoming, and loving environment for my students and to encourage them to express themselves through art. When I’m not teaching, I’m a busy wife, mom of two boys, and a professional photographer.
