Virtual Learning Friday, May 14th and Monday, May 17th

Students will be remote/distance learning on Friday, May 14th and Monday, May 17th. 

Teachers will have assignments loaded through Google Classroom. Day cares will be open at WBES from 6 - 6.  Whole Child Academy will be open.   At this point in time, we anticipate returning to normal schedule on Tuesday.

Dr. Malissa Johnson - Principal

Dr. Johnson began her teaching career in January 1991 in South Carolina.  Shortly after, she moved to Tennessee with her husband where she taught at Wharton Arts Magnet Middle School.  She was also privileged to teach at the University School of Nashville and Vanleer Elementary School before beginning her tenure as Principal at Charlotte Elementary School in 2003.
She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Columbia College in South Carolina; a Masters Degree in Special Education (Behavior Disorders) from Peabody College at Vanderbilt; a M Ed. in Educational Leadership and her doctorate in Leadership and Professional Practice, both from Trevecca Nazarene University.

Ms. Cindy Caldwell - Assistant Principal

Mrs. Caldwell taught 3rd - 5th grade at Oakmont Elementary School for 10 years.  In 2012, she moved to Charlotte Elementary School as a 3rd grade teacher.  She joined the leadership team at CES as Assistant Principal during the 2017-2018 school year.  
When she isn't at school, you can find her relaxing with her family and three children, quilting or cooking.

Mrs. Sara Cunningham - Assistant Principal

Mrs. Cunningham is beginning her 17th year in education.  During her time as an educator, she has served as a classroom teacher, interventionist, instructional coach and now an assistant principal.  She loves working with elementary school children and watching them realize their own potential.  When she is not at school, she enjoys being with her family, watching UT Vols play football and reading.
