Communication with parents is very important in Dickson County Schools. Parents are kept informed by several different methods such as automated phone calls, text messages, student information portal, social media and local news broadcasts. Official communication methods are listed below.

Skyward Student Management

Dickson County Schools recognizes the vital role that parents/guardians play in education. Skyward Family Access is an easy to use web-based tool for parents/guardians that provides secure, near real time information about your child’s grades, attendance, class schedule, messages from teachers, and demographic information.

Communications using Skyward is via the primary email. Messages or files are sent to parents, students, or staff using the primary email or phone number on file with the System.

Your student’s school sets up access at time of enrollment. If you do not remember how to access your account, please contact your school.

Twitter

To receive alerts and notifications using the Twitter social media app or the Twitter SMS feature, parents will need to sign up for a Twitter account, add their cell phone number to the account, find and follow @DCS_TN. Your child's school may also utilize Twitter to re-tweet @DCS_TN communications. If you have questions about any system-associated accounts used by your child's school, contact the school for those details.

NOTE: The Dickson County school system is not responsible for parent use of Twitter to receive messages. Dickson County Schools is not responsible for, nor supports setup or cancellation of Twitter notifications. Your subscription to Twitter and the @DCS_TN tweets is purely voluntary. For more information on how to sign up and follow @DCS_TN on twitter, you can follow these instructions
